BEHAVIOR
Bern Goldspell is a short, obsequious man in his early forties who owns and runs the general store, Bern’s Quality Goods. The store deals in general merchandise such as clothing, housewares, and tools, as well as the occasional magic item Bern purchased from adventurers. Despite his reputation as a shrewd negotiator and gruff appearance, highlighted by his spitting habit, Bern has a streak of kindness for the local downtrodden. He will often sell on credit to the less fortunate and “forget” to collect the debt.
Hooks
A delivery of ale from a brewer a few towns over is three days late.
Bern gave some goods as an act of charity but he later learned the person is well-off and was taking advantage of his generosity.
