The town guard sergeant commands multiple squads of guards during a shift, as well as leading his own. He is receives regular reports from other squads and makes reports in turn to his commanding officer. He has spent many years in the area and knows almost all residents by sight.

Awora is a barmaid at a small tavern. She is not a reliable employee - she often arrives late, leaves early, and slacks off during her shift. Despite her shortcomings, she is not fired because her beauty and flirty nature keeps the taproom filled when she is working. Awora manipulates her customers for big tips and the occasional gift.

Bern Goldspell is a short, obsequious man in his early forties who owns and runs the general store, Bern's Quality Goods. The store deals in general merchandise such as clothing, housewares, and tools, as well as the occasional magic item Bern purchased from adventurers. Despite his reputation as a shrewd negotiator and gruff appearance, highlighted by his spitting habit, Bern has a streak of kindness for the local downtrodden. He will often sell on credit to the less fortunate and "forget" to collect the debt.
